About

Twelve years in managed print, around a hundred implementations, and a long-standing habit of project managing everything in sight.

My career in IT software consultancy and business analysis started in 2013, but project management has been at my core since I could say the phrase. I've worked in implementation, professional services, operations management and development management, helping companies with stock control, engineer and service management, call control, meter billing, contract and invoice management, HR, payroll, business management and financial management — for small businesses and large, across the private and public sectors.

Having served well over a decade in the managed print services and office technology industry, that's where my expertise lies. But the industry has changed constantly, and I've kept evolving with it. As a freelance consultant I specialise in data migration, cleansing, report writing, data analysis and training, supporting companies through digital transformation, change management, and mergers and acquisitions.

I've worked with more than 200 copier dealers in the UK and Ireland, over a hundred of those on site and on the ground, with staff at every level of management and with directors and stakeholders. I've also worked with a lot of integration partners, from DCAs to toner suppliers. Around a hundred full software implementations later, I still enjoy bringing that experience back to the industry.

Where I've been useful

  • Data migrations between service management platforms, including post-acquisition merges of two live datasets.
  • Profitability and contract reporting built from data that nobody had managed to make sense of.
  • End-to-end implementations, from scoping through to the point where staff are using the system without being asked to.
  • Training programmes for teams who had been told a system was coming and weren't happy about it.

Away from the laptop

I'm with my family, travelling where possible, learning Korean, and leading a fantastic local community of mums — organising rather a lot of events. It turns out you can't leave project management at the study door.
